Reward

The winner of the Self-Portrait Prize 2025 will receive a cash prize of £10,000 and the opportunity to have their work featured in the Ruth Borchard Collection. Runners-up will be awarded £1,000, and selected artists may have their works included in a special exhibition. The competition is open to all self-portrait mediums, including painting, photography, sculpture, and digital art, welcoming a wide range of creative expressions.

Eligibility

​The Ruth Borchard Self-Portrait Prize 2025 is open to artists of all backgrounds, both established and emerging, aged 16 and over. Artists under 16 may also apply with parental or legal guardian consent. The competition welcomes self-portraits in various media, including painting, drawing, digital art, photography, sculpture, tapestry, and ceramics.
