Above the Fray Fellowship
Overview
The Above the Fray Fellowship, operated jointly with NPR, is designed to give a promising early-career journalist the opportunity to cover important but under-reported stories from a location abroad. One fellow is selected each year based on a winning proposal to report from a region lacking significant mainstream media attention.
Reward
Funding to cover all production and living expenses during the reporting period, including time spent at NPR in Washington, D.C. Fellows also receive an NPR-approved sound kit for their reporting.
Eligibility
Applicants must have at least five but no more than seven years of professional journalism experience.
