Media Projects

Overview

Media Projects supports the development, production, and distribution of documentary films, radio programs, podcasts, and video projects that creatively engage audiences with humanities ideas. Projects must demonstrate a thoughtful, analytical approach grounded in humanities scholarship.

Reward

Grants are available at two levels: Development grants offer up to $75,000 to support early-stage planning and research, while Production grants offer up to $700,000 for the creation and distribution of the final project. A Chair’s Special Award of up to $1,000,000 is available for projects that demonstrate exceptional quality and impact.

Eligibility

Submissions are open to nonprofit organizations, accredited educational institutions, and state or local government entities in the United States. Projects must demonstrate a strong connection to humanities scholarship and be designed to engage broad public audiences.
