The Diane Weyermann Fellowship is an 18-month program designed to support filmmaking teams working on feature-length documentaries that explore pressing moral and ethical issues. The fellowship offers financial assistance, mentorship, and professional development opportunities to help bring these impactful stories to global audiences.
Fellows receive a total of $100,000 in unrestricted grants per project, personalized mentorship from experienced filmmakers and industry professionals, and participation in two creative retreats at the Camden International Film Festival. The program also provides ongoing professional development to support both the completion of the films and the advancement of the fellows' careers.
The fellowship is open to global filmmaking teams with projects in mid to late production stages. Eligible projects are feature-length documentaries (70 minutes or longer) that highlight stories of moral and ethical urgency. Both a director and producer must be attached to the project, each with at least one feature-length film completed and distributed. Projects should have a budget under $1.5 million, with at least 10% of the budget raised from other sources.
