The Hillman Prizes aims to honor investigative reporting and deep storytelling in service of the common good. The Sidney Hillman Foundation seeks to illuminate the great issues of the day—from the search for a basis for lasting peace, to the need for better housing, medical care, and employment security for all people, the promotion of civil liberties, democracy and the battle against discrimination based on race, nationality, or religion.
Hillman Prize winners will be awarded a $5,000 honorarium and a certificate at their annual ceremony in New York.
Open to journalists globally, although work must have been widely accessible to a U.S. audience. Stories may be on any topic but stories with US impact are prioritzed.
